Fashion is my high, clothes are my drugs.

I love what a really great outfit can do for you. Not just something fashionable, but something you can feel so comfortable and confident in that it doesn't even bother you that you haven't really broken in the new shoes you're wearing yet. Or something that is just so freakin' fantastic that you can't help but smile all day.

Have any of these moment lately? Because I was chock full of them this week.

I got oxfords! After searching for the perfect pair I finally used a gift card and bought a Steve Madden pair. Honestly, any Steve Madden shoes are worth investing in. They are comfortable, practical, and just plain fabulous.
I, if I do say so myself, rocked them this week. One day with a black skirt and some maroonish purply tights and the other with ripped skinnies and an oversized collard shirt.

So, from my unbelievably excited/hyper/crazy attitude I had when wearing these I have established that fashion is my natural high. A good outfit and looking nice can just make everything better for a little while. It sounds superficial and stupid but it's the truth. And frankly, a pair of good Oxfords are the only drug I need.

Leaving you with a crazy big grin,

One Word, Four Letters.

One word, four letters, and unbelievably hard to find. We all crave for it. We need it to live. Without this, all of our lives are pretty dull. What is this word?

Sale.

Particularly a good one.

Why does it seem that everything, and I mean everything, is so expensive these days? Is it because I don't have a job and am only left with $20 of Christmas money? Or is it just that my style expectations have risen  an insane amount?

Definitely a little bit of both.

Why can't a good pair of oxfords be $30? I love Forever 21 and everything, but I don't think my feet can handle shoes from there just yet. Why can't I find a decent boyfriend blazer for $20? I'll tell you why. Fashion ain't cheap. Especially when you're style icon of the moment is Lauren Conrad.

I feel like I've been shopping way too much at Forever 21. I always tell myself, "Today, go somewhere else. Broaden your fashion horizons!" Then I see a wonderful top in Forever 21's window that's pretty much the same as the one I just saw at Macy's but 20$ cheaper. Now seriously, where would you go?

*Dramatic sigh.*

To be working at Bloomingdale's with a discount... the word discount just sounds lovely!

So, my love of Forever 21 will continue for ages and ages to come. Their prices have even gone up a little but the quality has improved so I really shouldn't complain. Oh well, whenever I get out of my Forever 21 bubble I'll be sure to hit the sales rack.

Because honestly, there's no where else I'd rather be.

Spring Coutoure

It seems weird that Spring will be coming soon considering I just spend an hour shoveling 18 inches of snow. Okay, more like 20 minutes but that's not really the point. Some designers have been coming out with their Spring 2011 Couture lines and they are absolutely fabulous. Couture is one of those things that sometimes cannot be worn but it the most creative of all fashion. Now my favorite, that I've seen so far has got to be Christian Dior's line. Every piece is absolutely beautiful in its own way. From full skirts, to pencil skirts, from taffeta to trains, and just beautiful cuts, the line is unique.

So let's review, shall we? The taffeta peaking out in the shapeless coat dress thing in the first picture is pretty much unwearable but so beautiful! The fading and coloring of red and black is going to be a major  fashion point for spring. A lot of lines had bold colors. The bubble top with pencil skirt bottom is actually wearable! It inspired me to design some wearable garments like it. The full skirt is pretty much my favorite because it is a blast from the past with a modern edge of leather and a sick collar. (Yes, I just said sick.)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress! The hem stops perfectly at the ankles and the wonderful cute on top sits just right. The fullness, the taffetta, the COLOR, I could go on and on!

Another beauty! I love the asymmetrical cowl neck and the colors going form sheer to light blue to beige.

I would highly advise checking the whole line out because everything is as gorgeous as these pieces.

Once again leaving you with highly priced clothes,

Pre-Fall 2011

Yes, it’s that time of year. I just finished stressing out over finals and the fashion world is already starting to set the style for Fall. So fashionistas, pull out your iPhone’s and iTouch’s and look at that style.com app because it’s that time.
So, let’s analyze shall we?
COLOR! And a lot of it. Elie Tahari has been mixing reds and purples while the Louis Vuitton line has some navy’s with some peach’s and some sherbert’s with some purples. In theory, this sounds like one, big, hot mess right? But in execution… c’est magnifique! I also LOVED the mustard yellow’s in Tahari. A lot of color blocking too in the Vuitton collection. And a LOT in the Michael Kors. His line is looking very nautical with navy, bright blue, bright red, and a whole lot of striped. Some of the pieces aren’t my favorite, not gonna lie, but it just might be the styling. A lot of shapeless things. Oscar de la Renta’s show started with hot pinks and teals. Zac Posen has sexy sophisticated going on with a fabulous gown I absolutely love. His line is a little darker but very fashionable. Alice+Olivia with absolutely beautiful clothes! They opened up with a fab dress with a high neckline and puffy bottom. This line had many neutrals and practical clothes but I would wear them in a heartbeat.

Now, how fabulous are these?

These colors together are gorgeous!

The shapeless coat works here because it is paired with the super tight pants!

So, my fashion followers. I leave you with pictures of beautiful clothes I can't afford. A girl can dream though, can't she?

Some more pre fall inspirations. I feel like I've seen a lot of pointy toe shoes on the runways! I'm starting to like them too..!
